& Outreach Assistance (HHSC):
Community Outreach and Assistance is a project developed through a contract with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Through this project, assistance in reaching clients and potential clients possibly needing benefits for such services as the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Medicaid, Women’s Health Program (WHP), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) is provided. In addition, the West Central Texas Council of Governments Staff markets these HHSC services through presentations to local groups, public service announcements, and purchase of print and media space. Close partnerships with HHSC and other local community organizations have been fostered in order to assure that clients and potential clients are made aware of services available.
